A true worshipper repents
quickly to receive the refreshing presence of the Lord in ever-increasing measure.
He is an intentional forgiver, allowing no root of bitterness to grow up within
him, which could defile many. He earnestly desires to encourage and edify fellow
believers while seeking to hear clearly and be led continually by the Holy
Spirit, in order to never resist, grieve, or quench the Spirit’s empowering work
within his heart.
A true worshipper seeks
humility before popularity, position, or the praise of men. He chooses to go
low and raise others high. He loves the Lord God with his whole heart, soul,
mind, and strength and his neighbor as himself. He makes these powerful
decisions allowing the Holy Spirit to supply the actual power to follow through
with the authentic actions, words, attitudes, and strength of heart that make his
powerful decisions a reality.
A true worshipper is an
example, following the example of Jesus fully, by being sensitive to the weaker
in faith and abstaining from every form of evil.
In essence, a true worshipper
is a lover. He treasures God’s love for him. He loves God and others because
God first loved him. He seeks to love the unlovable (Jesus washed Judas’ feet,
ate with His known betrayer, and served him communion). He
sacrifices to love, rather than slouching into a place of selfish comfort. This
is as intensely worshipping God from the depths of who we are as singing,
dancing, or playing worship to honor the King. This is the obedient heart at
its best because it is motivated by love inspired by a loving Father, rather
than mere religious robotic acts based on a person’s meager efforts, lacking an
abandoned heart. Jesus is the person we worship. Jesus is the source of our
worship.
Whether, then, you eat or
drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. I Corinthians 10:31

Wow, these words hold so true!! This truth goes so much deeper than mere "intellectual knowing". A true worshiper understands that their identity is found in what they hold onto in their heart and by their spirit. Jesus was always meant to be more than a thought, theology, or religion! Oh but the true worshipers already know that, and that is what sets them apart!
This is so true! You described it beautifully, understandable, simple, and powerful. This is the heart that God wants each of His children to know. worshipping Him not motivated by "I have to worship Him" but because we love God. Yes, Jesus is the source. Worship is an art of losing our self, and just worship our Almighty God with love for whatever our circumstances we're facing. Oh Lord we love you!
